My goal as a parenting coach is to help you build stronger, more connected and collaborative relationships with your children, your co-parent and yourself.

My path to parent coaching is rooted in my own experience as a child living in a separated family, and a desire to build community around one of the most challenging part of life: parenthood. My experience supporting families includes over a decade of working as a nanny, earning my B.A. in Adolescent Education, and serving as Teen Parent Services Coordinator at the YWCA. All of these experiences - along with my own journey as a parent and co-parent - culminated in my certification as a Parenting Coach through the Jai Institute for Parenting.

Coaching with me is parent-centered - I guide you beneath the surface of your stress and triggers to build your self-trust, communication skills, and compassion so you can lead your family with love and intention.  I love working with adults in all stages of parenthood, including co-parents living together or apart, who want to build a culture of collaboration and compassion in their home(s).

My coaching practice is grounded in an awareness of how systems of oppression shape our experiences of parenting, relationships, and family life.

Outside of coaching, you’ll find me singing Balkan, folk, and jazz music, dancing in the kitchen with my daughter, taking walks around the neighborhood with my dog Sammy, and trying to decide what’s for dinner.

  • "I am so thankful to be on weekly calls with Katy guiding me through my parenting challenges."

"I am so thankful to be on weekly calls with Katy guiding me through my parenting challenges. She listened and validated my experience in such a caring and compassionate way that really helped me to grow.  Katy’s curiosity helped me to work through the things in my past that are affecting me and my parenting… I am benefiting greatly in my parenting journey having had the time to work with Katy."

  • "I have grown so much, and know how to continue my growth."

"Prior to being coached by Katy, I was drowning in a sea of overwhelm as a mom of 5 kids. I now feel more aware of my own needs and how to meet them, which has released a lot of pressure in the family. That alone is HUGE, and is only one of the ways in which my parenting journey has begun to change. Katy offered a space that made me feel heard and acknowledged, and never judged. She helped me problem solve and see things from perspectives I hadn't considered. She is very down-to-earth and easy to talk with. I have grown so much, and know how to continue my growth."

  • "I liked how safe and relaxed the sessions felt. It never felt like judgment, just curiosity and teamwork."

“I was feeling stuck and wanted some new tools and perspective around certain patterns that kept coming up in our household. I was looking for more calm and confidence in how I respond when temperatures rise. I was also looking to the future to better prepare myself for conflict in adolescence…

I liked how safe and relaxed the sessions felt. It never felt like judgment, just curiosity and teamwork.

I realized in real time how much small small adjustments in perspective/reaction and tone make a big difference. I’m noticing the why behind the emotion, and I’m better at pausing before reacting. That slowing down and staying regulated myself is the best parenting tool I have.

You have such a kind, grounding presence and ask great questions.”

  • "These sessions were helpful to boost my confidence in parenting"

“I initially reached out for guidance on communication in the teenage years; and an intention to nurture a stable foundation of openness and trust with our three kids.

This experience brings a sense of community into one's parenting journey, and I highly recommend it.

Katy's coaching style feels as warm, conversational, and nurturing as a supportive conversation on the playground. Her ability to maintain this sense of warmth, while maintaining clear and grounded boundaries exemplifies a model that I'm striving for in my parenting… Her approach to coaching is authentic, experienced, and fun.

These sessions were helpful to boost my confidence in parenting… Thank you very much for your guidance in my parenting journey, I am deeply grateful for your work.”
